Dr Hélène Vien is a leading authority on vaginal health in Quebec. A medical graduate of Université Laval (Québec), she holds a Bachelor of Science (Biology) from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Université du Québec à Rimouski. A phlebologist and laserist, Dr. Vien is also a Fellow of the Canadian Phlebology Association (CPA) and a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). She has honed her knowledge of vaginal health treatments in the U.S. and Europe, notably with Dr. Mickey Karram, an internationally renowned urogynecologist and pelvic surgeon. Dr. Karram is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
Dre Vien has developed the RTATM (assisted tissue remodeling) treatment. This treatment is the result of ten (10) years of research: it enables women to regain the ability to have pain-free penetrations and a reduction in urinary incontinence. Inspired by what is being done in Europe and the USA, this innovative multidisciplinary approach combines conventional medicine with a variety of technologies to improve women’s vulva and vaginal health. RTAMC also improves vaginal health in cancer survivors and women who cannot benefit from hormone therapy.
Her expertise in rehabilitation, passion for women’s health and knowledge of new medical technologies and innovations make her a leader in women’s health, specifically in diseases related to the vaginal and vulvar mucosa. The recognized, Health Canada-certified medical technologies she uses have helped treat hundreds of women with health conditions often overlooked by research, public or private insurers and the healthcare system in general.
