Preparing for your first appointment
Your initial pregnancy follow-up appointment occurs roughly eight weeks after your last menstrual period.
To be prepared, be sure to track your pregnancy symptoms carefully and have a list of prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, along with any questions you may have.
Consultations with an obstetrician do not require a referral from your physician and are covered by your provincial health plan. You can also choose to go private for your pregnancy follow-up or any other related service.

Newborn follow-up
A first examination of the newborn is carried out immediately after birth. Regular appointments are then scheduled to monitor growth, overall development, and administer vaccinations.
