Biography

Dr. Simon Tinawi is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. He specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Tinawi has worked for over 30 years in neuro-traumatology, and in particular with clients who have suffered traumatic brain injury. As a senior consultant in the Neurotrauma Program at the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), he plays a key role in the management of traumatic brain injury. He has been clinically involved at all levels of the continuum of care, particularly in intensive care (Montreal Sacré-Coeur Hospital and Montreal General Hospital), intensive rehabilitation (Montreal Rehabilitation Institute, as program manager ), in rehabilitation focused on social and professional integration (Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre), and in home care (Quebec Association for Cranial Trauma, as a member of the Board of Directors). Dr. Tinawi has been the Senior Consultant Physician at the Mild Head Injury Outpatient Clinic at the Montreal General Hospital. He also worked in the mild traumatic brain injury program of the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Center of the CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. He has served on several government and scientific committees, and he has to his credit a dozen scientific publications as co-author of clinical studies.
